The Book Nook
Foreword:
When it comes to reading books (and retaining information that was read off of books), I’d have to admit that I consider my sister, Glen, as the gold standard.
There may be other bookworms out there but, to date, I haven’t really met anyone to bunk her off the top spot. Plus, most of the things I’ve read myself were from her collection of books (mostly because I don’t have the budget to buy my own) or were recommended by her.
Also, while most self-professed bookworms out there read stuff that are mostly mainstream, or let’s just say, “popular,” my sister likes classics and books the general public would usually shy away from or have never heard of.
To cite an example, not many people would know that Adolf Hitler actually wrote a book. But he did. It might not have been flawlessly put together (as Hitler was obviously not a writer but a “charismatic” leader) but it can be considered as a good read simply because it features the “other side” of the story — Hitler’s point of view (which many people would rather not discuss, let alone, read about).
And she’s my sister, so… you get the drill. =)
Here’s a little tribute to her uncanny talent of speed reading and voracious appetite for volumes of paperback/hardbound books.
Books I’ve read from the collection
Books I’ve read which are not part of the collection
*Disclaimer:
Not all the books that my sister had read are featured in this page. She’s already read books which were lent to her or do not belong to her and are therefore, not included in the list. This list could go on for miles (just exaggerating, of course) if I were to include all of the books she has read in her lifetime.
